Join Creative Cape TownCape Town Design Network and VISI for “Meet the Makers,” a special sneak peek into the inner workings of some of Cape Town’s most dynamic design studios. A select group of innovative Cape Town designers will host exclusive tours of their studios.

During “Meet the Makers”, attendees will have the opportunity to see work in progress and intimately view the environment in which Cape Town designers produce original, thought-provoking creations. This is the perfect opportunity for those interested in design to learn about the different designers, their methodologies and studio culture. Attendees will also receive a fabulous goodie bag courtesy of VISI.

For special insight into an emerging and innovative studio space, visit Only Today, a collaborative that serves as a platform between the boundaries of commercial and personal work. Only Today is a creative studio comprising of Jordan Metcalf, Adam Hill, Daniel Ting Chong and Emma Cook, who sometimes work together under the same name. Only Today is a creative studio comprising of Jordan Metcalf, Adam Hill, Daniel Ting Chong and Emma Cook, who sometimes work together under the same name. Gillian Benjamin works independently in the same space. We have been sharing a studio in the Woodstock Industrial centre on Albert Road in Woodstock for just over a year.

The studio came together pretty organically out of individual desires to have a workspace away from home, we had all been freelancing for different amounts of time but all felt that getting a studio space to work in was the next step. Through arbitrary conversations at design festivals and outside coffee shops we all ended up together. From some of us not really knowing each other in the beginning, the studio has become a place where we share ideas, collaborate on projects, give each other creative input, laugh at internet memes and play the occasional multi-player zombie shoot-em-up.

We see Only Today as a creative think tank and collaborative space where we can plan and work on projects that both push and benefit from our individual skill sets. We want it to be a platform for us blur the boundaries between commercial and personal work.
